project manager / SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER
Job Description:
Significant design and leadership opportunity with a dynamic interior design practice based in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona. Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of diverse professional interior design experience with a particular focus in the resort and hospitality industry. Preferred candidate should possess strong conceptual design skills that can be translated successfully throughout the implementation process all the way to final installations. A collaborative spirit and a passion for design excellence is a must. This is a long-term opportunity to play a leadership role within an established design firm.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Interior Design or equivalent
5+ years professional experience working in the hospitality design industry
5 or more years of professional AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
Working knowledge of the FF&E process from Schematic Design, to Design Development, to Installation
Ability to learn computer programs for FF&E such as Studio Designer
Knowledge of interior finishes and materials
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills but not Required:
Proficiency in use of AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office and Photoshop
Knowledge of SketchUp, Podium and Enscape
Drafting ability and construction document set implementation
Presentation quality 3D or 2D rendering ability using Adobe products, Revit, Podium or other
Able and willing to travel for out-of-state projects
Job Responsibilities:
Construct a feasible FF&E budget, perform product research, submit detailed quotes to vendors and enter FF&E specifications
Develop schedules for construction relating to interior finishes, lighting, plumbing, hardware and appliances
Read, review and assess documents provided by architects, engineers and contractors
Review and redline interior construction documents and shop drawings
Draw key design elements in CAD or by hand for others to implement
Execute and oversee design presentations in digital format as well as physical sample boards
Coordinate design intent between multiple entities including client, contractor, consultants, etc. through all phases of the project
Lead and manage client meetings with or without contractors, architects, engineers and consultants
Perform regular site visits and be actively involved in the construction administration phase
Utilize time management, delegate necessary work and manage team members to meet deadlines and stay on budget
Review all work for accuracy before each submittal
Collaborate with industry partners to manage/resolve document coordination and production issues
Observe professional ethics
